WIP: make-up maybe?

I never really dabbled in make-up, quite happy with what I had, but now I have this thing for matte, chapped lips and there just aren't enough around. So I've mocked up a few edits of Jinakiki's chapped lips that I might throw some of Pooklet and Aelia's actions at once I'm happy with them.


This one is barely edited; the top lip has been shifted upward a little, the whole thing's been sharpened a little, and been Volatile'd.


This one's a little more drastic. Made the creases darker and more pronounced around the edges and fiddled with the upper lip, lighting and been Volatile'd too. And swapped the alpha to Ephemera's to make the edges a little softer.


Thoughts or preference, anyone?

I really like the texture! I like the second version best myself, because it looks a bit more natural. The line between the lips on the first one is nearly black, which is a personal pet-peeve of mine. The one thing I would suggest is editing the right corner of the lip texture, that seems to be much darker than the left. 8-x

I have to agree on the black line now that you pointed that out, it makes the lips a little ... flat and unrealistic? As for the dark patch, I'll take a squizzy later and lighten it a fraction or two.

I try to avoid the Black Lip Line of Doom because I usually use mouth overlays with my sims to make the insides of their mouths a realistic reddish color instead of the default pitch black, so having a too-dark line along their lips looks especially weird when they open their mouths. XD Usually, I cheat and blend in the lip overlay section of Ren's full face mask but shhhh, don't tell.

Dude! Those look super awesome. I prefer the second version, too, and totally can't wait for you to release them. Matte lips are the win.

I prefer the second version too. I really like what you have so far.
I have never tried make up because it seems too difficult for me, but eyes are something imposible to make for me too, and you've done them XD
So, what I wanted to say is.. I LIKE IT.

It seems that the second is most popular so I'll probably do that one. (And looking at it this morning, I'm starting to prefer that one too.)
Well this is quite literally my first attempt at anything in the make-up category but it's turning out alright. Eyes are really easy little things to do if you find the right irises so they don't look flat or too bland. I'm pretty useless at creating my own textures so I scavenge from photomanips on deviantart.
